A 28-year-old Jasper man has pleaded guilty to federal drug violations in the Eastern District of Texas, U.S. Attorney John M. Bales has announced.

Shane Dwayne Hadnot pleaded guilty to possession with intent to distribute cocaine before U.S. Magistrate Judge Keith F. Giblin on Wednesday, Dec. 10.


Sergeant Rob Flores said Beaumont Police received a 911 call Monday morning about an ill child on a school bus, possibly having a seizure.

The child was transported to Christus Hospital St. Elizabeth where he died. The hospital contacted Beaumont Police and they in turn contacted BISD Police.

Investigators aren't releasing the student's name.
