Two former Vidor Independent School District teachers, a husband and wife first on paid administrative leave and now facing termination amid allegations of sexual misconduct and providing alcohol to minors, are preparing for upcoming appeal hearings with the Texas Education Agency. 


Officers with the Beaumont Police Department arrested two teenage males in relation to a call they received reporting a burglary in progress in the 1900 block of Pierce Street in Beaumont on Monday night, March 17, at about 10:53 p.m., police report.

According to a news release from BPD, the caller reporting the burglary said two black males kicked in a door and entered a residence on Pierce Street. When officers arrived on scene, the witness said the two burglars were still inside the house.

UPDATE: The concerned citizens of Vidor are offering a $5000 reward for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the two men who robbed Cindy's Bridal Shop and assaulted Johnnie Andrus and her assistant Kari Milligan.

UPDATE: Beaumont police have apprehended 26-year-old Joe Frederick Hawkins of Beaumont who was wanted as a suspect in a triple homicide that took place over the weekend. If convicted, Hawkins faces the death penalty for capital murder. A Port Arthur woman has been charged with hindering his apprehension.
