The U.S. dollar is the world’s most widely used medium of exchange. And it will soon become a medium of change, as well.

It seems that activists pushing to have the portrait of a woman – an actual woman, not just a symbolic female figure – placed on the nation’s paper money have been successful.

In a press release June 17, Treasury Secretary Jacob J. Lew announced that the new $10 note will feature a woman.
