Beaumont's Hazardous Material team was activated this morning after two people reported that they had been exposed to a strange white powder in their residence. 

At 7:59 a.m., Beaumont Fire/Rescue were dispatched to a residence on Barton Lane in response to a 911 call placed by an occupant of the residence reporting that he had possibly been exposed to some form of white powder. He and another female occupant of the residence were instructed to shelter in place as a precaution until responders arrived and Beaumont's HAZMAT team had been alerted. 


One woman was killed yesterday afternoon in a one-vehicle crash on FM 365 in Jefferson County.

The City of Beaumont will host a Job Fair on Saturday, July 18, from 8 a.m. – 2 p.m. at the Theodore Johns Library, 4255 Fannett Road. Onsite interviews will be conducted and skills testing administered for all skilled labor positions.

Residents at a Beaumont nursing home are enjoying the outdoors under a brand new gazebo, thanks to the hard work of a local Eagle Scout and his friends.

For his Eagle Scout Service Leadership Project, 17-year-old Caleb Long and a team of volunteers recently completed construction on the new addition at College Street Health Care, a non-profit retirement facility in Beaumont.
