A 45-year-old man has been sentenced to federal prison for child pornography violations in the Eastern District of Texas announced U.S. Attorney John M. Bales.

Robert Emmet Horn, of Sour Lake, pleaded guilty Nov. 22, 2010, to possession of child pornography and was sentenced to 80 months in federal prison today by U.S. District Judge Marcia Crone.

On Wednesday, April 6, at about 6:30 p.m., the Beaumont Police Department received a call from a 28-year-old Hispanic male who said he was robbed. He was at the washateria on Pinkston in Beaumont when he said he was pulled into a silver 4-door Buick Century and a black handgun was placed to his head. 

The victim said the black male with the gun said to him "you know what time it is." Two of the black male suspects took the keys to the victim's vehicle and left. A third suspect left in the perpetrators' car.

According to information from the Orange Police Department, on Wednesday, April 6, an arrest warrant was obtained for the suspect in the April 5 attempted murder case of 51-year-old Sylvia Vaughns.

Vaughns, who was transported to UTMB in Galveston by helicopter due to the severity of her injuries, was still recovering in the island hospital at press time and investigators say they are searching for the victim’s grandson as the aggressor responsible for her life threatening injuries.
