Nancy and Ken Evans

Nancy Evans, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, teacher and friend, passed away on June 22, 2018 in Beaumont, Texas. Nancy was born on December 2, 1949 near San Francisco, California. As an adult she and her husband Ken lived in Colorado, Arizona, Missouri, Oklahoma and Texas, yet she continued to a hold a special love for California. She had especially fond memories of Sundays at the beach with her parents and sisters Charlene and Jenna as well as summer adventures with the family camper in tow.


Joseph Young, 36, has pleaded guilty to assaulting a man by stabbing him repeatedly with a weapon fashioned from contraband while both were incarcerated in the federal prison system in Beaumont, Eastern District of Texas U.S. Attorney Joseph D. Brown announced Monday, June 25.

According to a press release issued by Brown’s office, Young, of Ripley, TN, pleaded guilty to assault with a deadly weapon on Friday, June 22, before U.S. Magistrate Judge Keith F. Giblin.

Chase Martin Floyd, a 22-year-old Port Neches man, was taken into custody Friday, June 22, as a suspect in a robbery of the CVS Pharmacy on College St., which occurred two days prior.

Kevin Andrew Kamper

Kevin Andrew Kamper, 29, was found guilty of two enhanced first-degree felonies of aggravated sexual assault of a child, Jefferson County Criminal District Attorney Bob Wortham said Friday, June 22, with the now-convicted child predator receiving a jury-instructed sentence in Judge Raquel West’s 252nd District Court totaling 50 years in prison with no parole. 


A 56-year-old Houston man has pleaded guilty to federal drug trafficking violations in the Eastern District of Texas, announced U.S. Attorney Joseph D. Brown June 22.

Eugenio Cerda pleaded guilty to conspiracy to possess with intent to distribute cocaine and conspiracy to money launder on June 21 before U.S. Magistrate Judge Keith Giblin.
