Police investigating a cell phone theft in Orange on Sept. 16 instead discovered crack cocaine in the possession of a teenage resident of the city, the Orange Police Department reports.

Firefighters doused a kitchen fire responsible for injuring a resident of a home in the 500 block of Campus in Beaumont on Sept. 17, Beaumont Fire Rescue reports

According to a news release, fire suppression units responded to a report of the fire at about 7:17 a.m. after the owner of the house drove to Fire Station number 3 and told firefighters his house was burning. A general alarm was sounded, and Engine 3 along with additional fire units responded to the location.
