The Art Museum of Southeast Texas (AMSET) is hosting A Vintage Affair, a wine tasting event for area wine connoisseurs. Held upon the request of those who might not like beer but love wine, AMSET is pleased to welcome back this artfully crafted fundraiser beginning at 7:30 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 1. What better way to kick off Valentine’s Day than by sharing with your sweetie a sampling of the finest wines paired with gourmet treats?
A Vintage Affair will offer an assortment of wine varietals with an interesting range of flavor profiles paired with gourmet chocolate, cheese and crackers for the enjoyment of both the seasoned oenophile, as well as those new to the world of wine. From sparkling and light whites to full bodied red and dessert wines, guests are encouraged to entice their palettes while sampling a broad spectrum of vintages and share in the intrigue that surrounds the timeless craft of winemaking.
Combining fine wine with premium gourmet delights, an artful ambiance and live musical entertainment provided by acclaimed vocalist and pianist Kay Miller, A Vintage Affair is sure to be a wine lover’s paradise.
Funds raised from this decadent collaboration of fine art and wine will benefit AMSET’s exhibition and education programs. A Vintage Affair 2013 is chaired by Mike and Lori Lockwood.
“This evening will offer patrons an opportunity to sample a wide selection of great wine from several different winemakers carefully selected and paired with delectable gourmet delights,” said A Vintage Affair 2013 Co-chair Mike Lockwood. “Guests are encouraged to enjoy the night’s selections and learn more about selecting the perfect accompaniment for their own special occasion.”
So come with your Valentine, and don’t miss this opportunity to indulge in a love affair with fine wines paired with gourmet chocolate, cheese and desserts.
