According to a news release from the Jefferson County Sheriff's Office, the agency has identified and arrested three adults and one juvenile involved in a Mid-County burglary ring. The arrests were the result of collaboration between the JCSO and the police departments of Nederland and Groves. JCSO Deputy Rod Carroll identified the suspects as 22-year-old Don McCray of Nederland, 20-year-old David Pennell of Nederland, 20-year-old Jonathon Miller of Nederland and an unidentified 16-year-old.
Franklin is being held on bonds for Burglary of Habitation, $15,000; and Marijuana Possession, $5,000. Pennell faces one charge of Burglary of Habitation, $15,000 bond. Miller has two charges of Burglary of Habitation, each carrying a $15,000 bond. Carroll said the juvenile’s information is being withheld due to legal requirements.
“These individuals are responsible six Burglaries of Habitation (two in Groves, two in Nederland, two in Mid-County),” Carroll stated in the JCSO’s official statement regarding the arrests. “Deputies acting on a tip from the Nederland Watchdog Facebook page were able to identify the suspects and recover a large amount of stolen property.
“Included in the stolen property were 16 guns, 10 flat screen TVs, and numerous computers. The total value of the stolen property was $20,000. The Jefferson County Sheriff's Office would like to thank the individuals that assisted us in locating and identifying this group,” Carroll said.
