Registration begins today (Tuesday, April 9) for May mini, summer and fall classes at Lamar University.
Special populations of students – which includes athletes, honors students, military personnel (active duty and veterans), seniors and students with disabilities – can register for classes beginning Tuesday, April 9. Open registration for all admitted students will begin Tuesday, April 16.
The May mini-session will run from May 17 to June 4.
Four summer sessions will be offered. Early Summer (Summer I) will be June 5 to July 10. Late Summer (Summer II) will be July 11 to Aug. 14. Full Summer (Summer III) will be June 5 to Aug. 14. Mid Summer (Summer IV) will be June 19 to July 24.
Fall classes will begin Aug. 26.
Most students are required to meet with an academic advisor before registering for classes. Freshmen and sophomores (those with fewer than 60 credit hours) should contact the Undergraduate Advising Center for an advising appointment at advising [at] lamar [dot] edu or (409) 880-8822. Current students are encouraged to register as soon as possible, so they will be able to take the classes they want at the times most convenient for them. For links to class schedules and related information, please look online at www.lamar.edu/schedules .
Prospective students are asked to submit application materials as soon as possible, so they can be considered for admission and complete other steps required of new students prior to registration. To be considered for Fall 2013 admission, new undergraduate students must submit all application materials no later than 5 p.m. Friday, Aug. 9. Required application materials include an online application completed at www.applytexas.org , copies of all transcripts (high school for entering freshmen, college for transfers) and test scores (SAT or ACT for those with fewer than 18 hours of college credit). After being accepted for admission, new students will be required to complete additional steps - including meeting with an academic advisor and providing proof of bacterial meningitis immunization or exemption - prior to registering for classes.
