According to information from Orange Police Capt. Cliff Hargrave, on Friday, April 8, the suspect in the attempted murder of an Orange woman, Horace Dempsey, was arrested in Miami, Fl.
“During the course of the investigation, it was discovered that the suspect had fled with his 18-year-old girlfriend and their 2-month-old baby. On Wednesday, April 6, the suspect dropped the girlfriend and baby off at the girlfriend’s mother’s house in Jacksonville, FL. Orange Police Detective Sgt. Garrold Keaton and Orange County District Attorney Investigator K. C. Breshears, flew to Jacksonville to interview the girlfriend.”
Once in Florida, investigators felt the suspect may have been en-route to his mother’s home in Miami, FL., so the law enforcement agents garnered support from the local policing agencies and traveled to Miami to search for Dempsey.
Keaton and Breshears showed up at the suspect’s mother’s house in Miami and Dempsey was taken into custody by the Miami-Dade Police Tactical Team.
