On Saturday, April 9, at about 11:15 p.m. Beaumont police officers responded to a reported disturbance at a residence in the 1700 block of Lucille.
When officers arrived, they spoke to the victim, a 23-year-old Beaumont woman. The woman said a 31-year-old Beaumont man she is acquainted with came to her residence in the 1700 block of Regent and assaulted her.
He then forced her to drive him and her children to a relative's residence in the 1700 block of Lucille. He told her to go in and get some money for him and threatened the children if she did not fully cooperate.
After she got some money for him he forced her to drive to the 3200 block of Elmira, where he got out and fled the scene on foot. Police are currently looking to get a warrant for the suspect at which time they are expected to release his name.
The victim knows the suspect but the character of their relationship is unknown.
