Police are currently searching for the culprit behind a rash of cigarette burglaries.
According to a BPD press release, officers are trying to find the person or persons behind at least three Dollar General burglaries wherein at least one suspect has been forcing his way through the doors, breaking open the cigarette container and stealing numerous cartons of cigarettes.
The first burglary occurred Thursday, Sept. 19, at about 4:42 a.m. at the Dollar General at 10 11th St. The second occurred about an hour later at the Dollar General at 5468 College St. The third burglary occurred early Saturday morning, Sept. 21, at about 2:30 a.m. at the Dollar General at 2210 Gulf St.
All three burglaries have the same series of events, police said in the press release, leading them to believe the suspects are the same for all three burglaries.
