A man was hospitalized in stable condition after suffering a gunshot wound Sunday night.
According to a BPD press release, officers responded to 1290 Pipkin Street to find a 28-year-old Hispanic man with a gunshot wound to his abdomen.
After interviewing witnesses on the scene, officers learned the victim was in an altercation with a friend in which the victim had "struck the man in the mouth with his fist," the press release said.
Apparently unwilling to let the fight continue, the man's brother eventually produced a hand gun, shooting the victim and fleeing the scene soon after.
Police are still searching for the gun-wielding man who shot the victim.
The 28-year-old victim was transported to St. Elizabeth hospital where he was listed in stable condition, according to the press release.
