Sixth, seventh and eighth graders from All Saints Episcopal School in Beaumont rehearsed Oct. 8 for Oct. 10, 11 and 12 performances of Disney’s “Mulan.”
Tickets are $10 for adults and $8 for students. The performance is open to the public and begins at 7 p.m. each night at the school's assembly hall, 4108 Delaware St. in Beaumont.
It was the 25th production of director Ramona Young, who has been the All Saints drama teacher for the past nine years.
“I’m just amazed every time I get to work with her (Young),” said Stacey Savino, musical director of the play. “Everything she does, she gives 150 percent.”
Young said the set and costumes were brought from China by retired art teacher Celia Coleman, who had a legacy of sharing culture with All Saints students. Young added that one of the Chinese ceremonial doors used in the play was more than 150 years old.
“The kids are learning a lot,” Young said. “It’s been a little challenging, but the kids enjoy it, and they look great.”
