Police are still searching for a hispanic male they say is responsible for shooting four people late Sunday night.
According to a BPD press release, on Sunday Oct. 27 at about 2 a.m., police were called to the 500 block of Edgemoore to find four gunshot victims.
Before police arrived, a homeowner discovered his home had been ransacked by an unknown burglar and was talking to police dispatch when he noticed a suspicious man on the next block.
But when the victim and others tried to confront the man from a distance, the suspect pulled a handgun and opened fire into the large crowd which had gathered in the street.
According to the press release, when police arrived, they found two victims laying in the roadway suffering from gunshot wounds. Officers found another victim in a drainage ditch and a fourth victim inside a nearby residence who all suffered from wounds sustained when the unknown man opened fire on them.
All were transferred to St. Elizabeth Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries and are expected to recover, but the man who opened fire on them is still at large, according to police.
The suspect is described as a young Hispanic male, possibly in his twenties, wearing dark clothing and a black hoodie sweater.
Anyone with information leading to an arrest could be eligible for $1,000 reward by calling the Beaumont Police Department at (409) 832-1234.
