A single-vehicle motorcycle accident proved fatal for a Port Arthur resident on March 2.
According to a news release from the Port Arthur Police Department, officers responded to the accident in the 1000 block of North Levee Road on Pleasure Island at approximately 2:12 p.m. Officers reportedly determined that 23-year-old Jeremy Partridge was driving the motorcycle when his brakes "locked up" causing him to be thrown from the bike. Partridge struck the pavement and was fatally injured. He was flown via medical helicopter to St. Elizabeth Hospital in Beaumont where he underwent surgery for his head injury. He later died at the hospital.
