The Christus Health Foundation of Southeast Texas’s Gala is upon us as Reba will headline the 34th annual black tie event on Saturday, April 26, at the Beaumont Civic Center as festivities get underway at 7 p.m. A gourmet meal will be served at 8 p.m. followed by a performance by one of the most successful female recording artists in history — Reba McEntire — at 9:30 p.m.
“We are thrilled to have Reba as our entertainment this year. This evening has been years in the making and we are so excited to have her participate in this fundraiser,” said Ivy Pate, Christus Health Southeast Texas Regional vice president for philanthropy. “This event ensures the vision of the Sisters of Charity, to extend the healing ministry of Jesus Christ, lives in the work of Christus Hospitals. The foundation is truly grateful to our business and individual supporters for their contributions.”
Tables for eight start at $3,000, and individual seating is limited. To learn more or to receive a personalized invitation, call (409) 899-7555. Proceeds from the gala will support programs at Christus Hospital-St. Elizabeth and St. Mary as well as Christus Jasper Memorial Hospital.
The Christus Health Foundation of Southeast Texas plays a vital role in bringing the latest advances in healthcare to our area. Past projects have included the Christus Outpatient Pavilion and Digital Mammography. Its success in philanthropy will assure the community that the vision of its founders, of high quality care that is accessible to those in need, will continue.
Reba’s storied career includes selling more than 80 million albums in a career that spans back to 1977 when she released her debut album. A member of the Country Music Hall of Fame, Reba has won more than 40 awards with two Grammy Awards and is only one of four entertainers in history to receive the National Artistic Achievement Award from the U.S. Congress.
She earned her 64th Top 10 hit and her 35th No. 1 with her 2010 hit, “Turn On The Radio.”
The Oklahoma native is also an acclaimed actress with 11 movie credits to her name, including Tremors, North and The Little Rascals. In 2001, she made her Broadway debut in Irving Berlin’s Annie Get Your Gun, which the New York Times hailed, “without qualification the best performance by an actress in a musical comedy this season.” She has also starred in the eponymous sitcom Reba, which ran for six seasons on the WB Television Network/The CW, and Malibu Country on ABC.
