West Orange Police arrested an Orange woman after she reportedly brandished a gun at employees of a local car dealer, police report.
According to Assistant Chief Jesse Romero, officers arrested 25-year-old Chelsea Kindle of Orange for aggravated assault with a deadly weapon on May 1 after employees of Granger Chevrolet in West Orange reported the woman came in bearing a firearm and demanding to see an employee of the business.
“She has some sort of history with a person who works there,” Romero said. “She went into the dealership and confronted the employees at the dealership with a pistol.”
The employee for whom Kindle was searching was not at work at the time, and the dealership employees reportedly told police the suspect fled prior to their arrival. Romero reports officers caught up with Kindle at a local residence and arrested her. She made $25,000 bond and was released the following day.
Orange Police Department Captain Cliff Hargrave said Kindle is a person of interest in a separate but related incident. According to Capt. Hargrave, an Orange resident reported her home was shot at on April 29. Hargrave said the residence reportedly fired upon was that of the employee the suspect was searching for in the incident at Granger Chevrolet on May 1.
According to a database search, Kindle has prior arrests for criminal trespass in 2009 and for resisting arrest in 2008.
The investigation is ongoing.
