Pinehurst police arrested one man after a traffic stop led to the discovery of methamphetamine, officers report.
According to a news release from the Pinehurst Police Department, On Tuesday, May 6, Officer Leonard Roff conducted a traffic stop in the 600 block of Strickland Drive. Upon obtaining consent to search the vehicle, Officer Roff located a small metal tin that contained two clear, plastic bags containing a crystal-like substance that he believed to be methamphetamine. The driver, 31-year-old Randy Reed of Spurger, was placed under arrest for Possession of a Controlled Substance. He was transported to the Orange County Jail where he was later released after posting a $1500.00 bond.
The offense is a State Jail Felony punishable by up to 2 years in a state jail and a $10,000 fine.
