Orange Police officers are searching for a suspect involved in the burglary of business on Monday, June 16.
According to a police report from OPD, officers were dispatched to Orange Stationer located at 701 Division St. in Orange after employees of the store discovered the building had been broken into when they arrived at the shop at about 7:50 a.m. on June 16. The store owner told officers the business closed at approximately 3 p.m. the day before and was secure at that time. The employees told police they found the store safe in the floor on its side and obviously tampered with as though someone had tried to break it open. Two laptops were also reported missing from the business, a 12-inch Toshiba and a 15-inch HP.
Officers collected evidence at the scene including a hammer, a prybar, a Gatorade bottle possibly left behind by the burglar and swabs of blood from the safe. The case is still under investigation.
