Beaumont firefighters used the "Jaws of Life" of rescue a young child from a locked safe this afternoon
According to a news release from Beaumont Fire Rescue, at approximately 12:39 p.m., fire rescue units responded to a report of a child locked in a safe at the La Morenita Meat Market at 850 S. 11th St. When firefighters arrived at the location, they found that a four-year-old boy was playing in the storeroom and accidentally locked himself in a safe.
Firefighters used a special saw to cut the hinges of the door and then used the "Jaws of Life" to pry the door open. It took firefighters approximately 30 minutes to free the child from the safe. The child was checked by Beaumont EMS and found to be okay following his brief ordeal, Beaumont Fire Rescue reports.
