Shortly after 6 a.m. on April 29, the Orange County Sheriff’s Office received a call concerning a person lying in the grass on the I-H 10 South Service road near Baird’s Bayou in Rose City, according to reports from the agency. Upon arrival, Deputies found a white male lying in the grass beneath the overpass who was not responsive. Further investigation at the scene revealed that the man had apparently fallen from the overpass above. The victim’s vehicle was on the overpass and apparently was stopped due to a flat tire, the report continues. The Orange County Homicide Investigation Team responded to the scene and is investigating the incident. Justice of the Peace Rodney Price responded and pronounced the victim deceased at the scene. The victim was transported to the Jefferson County Morgue for an autopsy. The identity of the victim is not being released pending notification of family members. The investigation is continuing and more information will be released once it becomes available.
