Orange County Sheriff Keith Merritt has notified citizens that there is an e-mail being distributed warning people not to transport children found crying in the street to a residence. "This specific e-mail is not from the Sheriff’s Office and has been identified as a hoax. Sheriff Merritt would like to remind all citizens to remain alert and cautious. If placed in a situation that doesn’t appear right, contact the Sheriff’s Office." That number is (409) 883-2612.
