Port Arthur Police detectives are working the city's latest homicide, Donzetta Vertnell Roberts, a 45-year-old Port Arthur woman was found dead Saturday afternoon in her Carver Terrace Apartment.
Police would not comment on how she died, other than to say she died from "wounds found on her body" according to a press release.
According to the release, a relative of Roberts was concerned when Roberts did not show up for work Saturday morning and went to her apartment to check on her. The relative's fear grew when Roberts' car was at the apartment complex, but Roberts apartment door was locked. A maintenance man opened the door for the relative to check on Roberts, and inside they found her deceased.
An autopsy has been ordered by Justice of the Peace Brad Burnett.
