A crowd of 1,955 watched the Lamar Cardinals destroy Division III Louisiana College, 101-39, in their final exhibition game inside the Montagne Center on Monday night.
Four Cards scored in double-figures, three with 18 points, while every player that suited up for Lamar got their name in the scorer’s book.

Quotes from Pat Knight:
“I thought every player showed up tonight and played, unlike the first exhibition game where Devon Lamb played hard the entire game.”
“To hold any team to 39 points, regardless who they are, is a good thing.”
“I thought Charlie Harper has improved and his attitude has been very good. He didn’t know he was going to start all week. We still need to work on body language when guys start pouting."
“Mike James suffered a concussion five days before the exhibition game with St. Gregory’s.”
“Now it’s time to buckle down. We open the season with three games in five days.”
Next up: Arkansas State
The Cards will open the regular season on Friday, Nov. 11 with a home tilt against Arkansas State at 7:30 p.m. ASU finished 17-15 last season and tied for first in the West Division of the Sun Belt. ASU defeated Lamar 78-75 last season after falling behind 11 at the half. LU committed 21 turnovers. They are picked to finish first in the SBC West.
The Red Wolves return three starters from last year’s team and two to keep an eye on are Trey Finn and Martavius Adams.
ASU is coached by John Brady, who enters his third season and was named SBC Coach of the Year last year. He led LSU to the Final Four in 2006.
“They are well coached and are going to play some tough man to man defense.”
