A 22-year-old Beaumont man is dead after an argument on Mother's Day turned violent.
Beaumont Police arrested Paige Parkerson, 20, after arriving to she and boyfriend Clifton Barkin's home in the 2300 block of Pope Street just after midnight on Monday, May 14. According to police, Parkerson and Barkin were arguing Sunday evening, and then the "verbal disturbance became heated and turned violent when Parkerson stabbed the victim with an unknown type knife."
Barkin was pronounced dead at the scene. The two have children together according to police.
Parkerson was taken to the Jefferson County Correctional Facility and she was charged with first degree murder. A bond has not been set for Parkerson, however it is expected she will have one by Tuesday morning. An autopsy will be performed by the Jefferson County Morgue.
