Monday night at around 8:32pm, Beaumont police officers responded to Chase Bank, located at 6025 Eastex Freeway, in reference to an aggravated robbery. A woman said she pulled up to the ATM at the bank, seated in her vehicle, and withdrew money. She had her two daughters with her, with the oldest seated in the front passenger seat and her 9-year-old in the back seat. She told police after withdrawing the money, a black male with a silver handgun, jumped into the truck on the passenger side and crawled over the younger daughter, to the seat behind the driver. The suspect demanded the money. She gave him the money and pulled up a few feet, where the subject got out of the vehicle and fled to a maroon PT Cruiser style car, or possibly a Chevrolet HHR, according to police. The woman said the suspect left driving the maroon vehicle north bound through the Parkdale Mall parking lot.
According to police, both daughters believe they saw the suspect's vehicle at the bank as they pulled up and said it made a circle and came back around from behind. The victim and her daughters described the subject as a black male "with close hair, very dark complexion, square diamond earrin gs, gold teeth." He stood approximately 6-feet tall and weighted roughly 180 pounds. He was wearing a dark blue or purple shirt with black pants.
Beaumont Police canvassed the area and are working with detectives to catch the suspect.
