The Orange County Sheriff’s Office received a call sometime after 10 p.m. Thursday, May 17, in relation to what the caller believed was a possible stabbing and shooting occurring in the 1700 block of Ricky Lane in Vidor.
Upon arrival, Deputies found 34-year-old Adrian Guidry with a gunshot wound to his left leg. The victim’s brother was also at the scene, later identified as the shooter. Guidry was transported to Christus St. Elizabeth Hospital in Beaumont by Acadian Ambulance.
Investigators determined that the incident occurred inside a residence in the 1700 block of Ricky Lane. The resident, Christopher Kelly, advised that he was at home when his brother, Adrian Guidry, came to the location and forced his way into the residence. Once inside the house, Adrian began to threaten him about an incident from earlier in the evening. The two brothers began fighting inside the residence and then Guidry attempted to stab Kelly.
Kelly was able to grab a shotgun that was near his location, he said. Kelly fired the shotgun, which had been loaded with rubber bullets, striking Guidry in the left leg. Investigators spoke with Guidry at the hospital about the incident, and according to emergency room personnel, Guidry was going to undergo surgery to remove the shotgun pellets from his leg.
The investigation is ongoing and at this time no arrests have been made and no charges have been filed in this case.
