Jefferson County Sheriff's Office responded to a report of a pipeline leak in west Jefferson County near the Chambers County line at about 7:30 a.m. The sheriff's office had received a call from a resident reporting the pipeline leak on Rollins Road at a pump station. The resident described the pipeline as "blowing its top and making a loud noise."
The first deputy on the scene determined that a release valve on the pipeline had ruptured, and Rollins Road was closed for about an hour and a half.
