Representatives from the Shangri La Botanical Gardens and Nature Center say time is running out to enter family, business, church, school or organization entries into the second annual Scarecrow Festival. Oct. 15 is the last day to register an entry for the Scarecrow Festival, which takes place Oct. 26 through Nov. 27. "It's a fun time for businesses, schools, organizations and even families to express themselves in a creative way with their scarecrow design. We encourage everyone to reuse or recycle materials for their design, but the imagination is the limit to what can be created," said Michael Hoke, director of Shangri La. There is no fee to enter a scarecrow into the event, and applications are available at several locations including the Orange Public Library, the Greater Orange Area Chamber of Commerce, the City of Orange Convention and Visitors Bureau and online at www.shangrilagardens.org .
