Lamar alumni are invited to tailgate the Lamar vs. New Orleans Baseball game at Vincent-Beck Stadium on Friday, April 11, 2014. The fun starts at 5:30, and links, boudin and hot dogs will be available. Don’t forget about the S’mores bar! The cost is $7 per person and kids under 5 get in for free. Admission to the 6:30 game is included. Advanced registration is required.

Lamar assistant coach Craig McGallion has been named defensive coordinator announced head coach Ray Woodard Friday morning. McGallion takes over for Bill Bradley who retired after spending the previous two seasons as the Cardinals defensive coordinator.

The Warren Warriors have a new athletic director and head football coach in 32-year-old Chris Babin. The School Board accepted the hire on Tuesday night during a school board meeting. Babin will replace John Woodard, who moved on to become the new athletic director and head coach at 2A Quitman. Woodard was 8-11 in two seasons in Warren.
