Little Cypress-Mauriceville head baseball coach Steve Griffith reached a milestone Thursday night as he recorded his 500th win as a head coach when his Bears defeated Lumberton, 4-0, at Don Gibbens Field. Griffth became the youngest coach, 49, to ever reach the milestone.
Since having the interim tag removed from his title Lamar head basketball coach Tic Price has been busy getting his team ready for the 2014-15 season. That work has consisted of recruiting and putting together a coaching staff. Part of that work was completed Wednesday when Price announced the hiring of Anthony Anderson, Robert Kummer and Antonio Madlock as assistant coaches.
Lamar alumni are invited to tailgate the Lamar vs. New Orleans Baseball game at Vincent-Beck Stadium on Friday, April 11, 2014.
