Nutty Jerry's Entertainment Complex in Winnie announced they will host four indoor football games beginning April 1 as the Houston Stallions of the Houston based Southern Indoor Football League will play four of their home games at the facility.

Their home arena is H&P Arena, which is located on the campus of Texas Southern University in Houston.

The four games scheduled for Nutty Jerry's:

-Friday, April 1 vs. Rio Grande Valley Magic

-Monday, April 25 vs. Corpus Christi Hammerheads

-Saturday, May 7 vs. Abilene Roughriders


Lamar State College-Port Arthur saw their magical season come to an end Friday afternoon when Cape Fear Community College defeated the Seahawks 66-63 in the consolation bracket of the NJCAA National Tournament in Hutchinson, KS.

Sophomore guard Vonn Jones led the Seahawks with 17 points and had six assists in his final game and fellow sophomore guard Keenen Coleman closed out his junior college career with a double-double, 12 points and 11 rebounds. Sophomore forward Roman Vaughn added 16 points.

HUTCHINSON, KS - The NJCAA's top-ranked team coming into the tournament was eliminated Thursday afternoon when Lamar State - Port Arthur upset Missouri State - West Plains 69-62 at the Hutchinson Sports Arena. Poor shooting and 25 turnovers were the demise of the Grizzlies.

LSC-PA also won the battle of the boards, out-rebounding MSUWP 40-31. Vonn Jones led the Seahawks with 19 rebounds, five rebounds and four assits. Darrion Booker came off the bench to score 17in the second half and also had nine rebounds.


FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – The Lamar University women’s basketball team saw its hopes of a postseason title come to an end with a 91-65 loss to Arkansas in the first round of the WNIT on Thursday.

Lamar (25-8) couldn’t overcome a cold shooting touch in the first half. The Lady Cardinals were just 9-of-33 (27.3 percent) from the floor in the first half, including going just 2-of-13 (15.4 percent) from 3-point range as Arkansas (20-11 )raced out to a 43-22 lead at intermission.
