Askren visits Beaumont, bringing MMA world title

Ben Askren successfully defended, and dominated, in his latest title defense, which I attended on April 6. He beat up on Douglas Lima, one of the top welterweights in the world, for five rounds at Bellator 64 at Caesars in Windsor, Ontario, Canada.

Cross resigns as basketball coach at Lamar State College-PA

Matt Cross has turned in his resignation and will no longer be the head basketball coach at Lamar State College-Port Arthur.

During his three years as the head coach of the Seahawks, Cross has helped lead the program to a 74-30 won-loss record. His teams provided many milestones in Seahawks program history: First regular-season championship, first Region 14 tournament championship, and first-ever trip to the NJCAA national tournament in Kansas.
