Five Lady Cardinals from the Lamar University tennis team were named as Intercollegiate Tennis Association Scholar Athletes, which led the team to claim the Scholar Team distinction.

The team notched a 3.42 grade point average for the season, and was one of 117 Division I programs and three Southland Conference teams to grab the honor. To make the list, a team must have at least a 3.2 GPA. Northwestern State and Texas A&M-Corpus Christi were the other SLC programs on the list.
