Matt Cross has turned in his resignation and will no longer be the head basketball coach at Lamar State College-Port Arthur.

During his three years as the head coach of the Seahawks, Cross has helped lead the program to a 74-30 won-loss record. His teams provided many milestones in Seahawks program history: First regular-season championship, first Region 14 tournament championship, and first-ever trip to the NJCAA national tournament in Kansas.

The Lamar Cardinals clawed their way into the Southland Conference win column after being swept on the road by Central Arkansas and losing the first two home games with UT Arlington.
