Accident between Vidor and Pine Forest sends three to hospitals

On May 5 at about 9:30 a.m., the Texas Department of Public Safety responded to a two vehicle crash at the intersection of FM 105 and FM 1132 in Orange County between Vidor and Pine Forest, Sgt. Stephanie Davis said in a release.

Initial reports indicate that a 2011 Ford pickup truck was stopped at a traffic light when the vehicle was rear-ended by the driver of a 2005 Nissan passenger vehicle. The driver of the Ford was stopped at a red light waiting to make a left turn onto FM 1132 when his vehicle was struck from behind by the Nissan.

The driver of the Nissan was transported by medical helicopter to St. Elizabeth's hospital with serious injuries to her lower extremities.

The driver of the pickup truck and his brother were both transported to St. Elizabeth's hospital. However, the extent of their injuries are unknown.

At this time, there is heavy traffic congestion near the area of the crash. Motorists are urged to slow down and stay alert for slow moving traffic.

This is an ongoing crash investigation.
