Advanced ESL class and citizenship naturalization service coming up at downtown library

The Literacy Center will be hosting a citizenship naturalization service and a new advanced ESL class at the Main Library downtown in the next few weeks, City of Beaumont spokesperson Rosanna Mojica said in a statement.

The class for Advanced ESL students begins Tuesday, August 22. This class will be for individuals who have attended college either in their native country or in the United States and who are comfortable speaking in English in groups and making oral reports in English.

The class will be facilitated by Mrs. KunWoo Choi, former branch manager at the R.C. Miller Library and will take place on Tuesday and Thursday mornings from 10:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.

The United States Citizenship Naturalization service will be held at the Main Library on Thursday, September 14 at 10:00 a.m.

The Honorable Keith F. Giblin, U.S. Magistrate, will be presiding. Fifteen citizenship candidates from a variety of countries will be welcomed and sworn in as new citizens.
