One of Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton's staff has resigned after a controversial Facebook post.

Former Associate Deputy Attorney General Andrew Leonie resigned Dec. 14 after one of his Facebook posts was screenshotted by Lauren McGaughey, a Dallas Morning News reporter.

"Aren't you also tired of all the pathetic 'me too' victim claims?" Leonie wrote at 2:40 a.m. Dec. 13. "If every woman is a 'victim', so is every man. If everyone is a victim, no one is. Victim means nothing anymore."

The post has since been deleted. Leonie resigned the next day.

“This afternoon, Andrew Leonie resigned his position with the Office of the Attorney General effective immediately," said Director of Communications Marc Rylander in a statement issued Dec. 14.

"The views he expressed on social media do not reflect our values. The OAG is committed to promoting and maintaining a workplace that is free from discrimination and harassment.”
