Alleged child pornographer in federal custody
With the help of federal Homeland Security agents, police in Port Neches seized a cache of child pornography along with the man they say is responsible for the grotesque photos and videos.
A prosecutor in Jefferson County confirmed Christopher Dale Harrison, 32, is in federal custody on child pornography charges, and they plan to charge Harrison with continuous sexual assault of a child once he is released into state custody.
According to a probable cause affidavit obtained by The Examiner, federal agents and local police in Port Neches raided Harrison’s home at 2032 Fifth St. on April 18 to find child pornography stills and videos on Harrison’s computer.
Police were also able to track down a camera Harrison sold to a local pawnshop where they found nude and provocative pictures of Harrison’s 9-year-old stepdaughter on the camera’s memory card, according to the affidavit.
The 9-year-old was interviewed at the Garth House where she told investigators Harrison forced her to perform oral and anal sex on a regular basis for the past two years, the affidavit said. The child was also examined by a sexual assault nurse who confirmed the child’s molestation.
Harrison was interviewed by police and eventually confessed to the ongoing molestation of his stepdaughter.
Harrison is expected to be formally charged with possession of child pornography in federal court in the coming months, according to a prosecutor familiar with the case, who said once federal agents add up each pornographic picture and video, Harrison’s sentence will be substantial.
“Video is worth more prison time,” the prosecutor said.
