Beaumont police investigate armed robbery at Jason's Deli

Police in Beaumont are investigating the early morning armed robbery of a Jason’s Deli during which suspects reportedly tied up employees and demanded access to the safe Aug. 22, Beaumont Police Department (BPD) Officer Haley Walters stated in a news release.

According to the news release, officers responded to Jason’s Deli at 535 Dowlen Road in Beaumont in reference to an aggravated robbery at about 6:21 a.m. Monday. Investigating officers learned that two black males had entered the front door of the store while a product delivery was taking place. Two Jason’s Deli employees and a delivery driver were inside the business when the robbery occurred. One of the suspects used a black and silver handgun to threaten the employees. The suspects then used zip-ties on the employees and forced the manager to open the safe at gunpoint. The employees complied with the robbers’ demands. The suspects then left the scene. They are believed to have fled the area on-foot with a large amount of cash. None of the employees reported injuries.

Detectives are working to gather further information. The suspects are described as approximately 5-foot-6 and 5-foot-11, and both were wearing bandanas over their faces.
