Beaumont police investigate early morning west-end robbery

Wednesday, July 12, at approximately 6:16 a.m., Beaumont Police officers responded to the 400 block of Yorktown Lane, in reference to a burglary in progress.

Upon arrival, the resident told officers he was getting ready for work and had his garage door open. He said he was startled by one of two suspects in his patio area between the garage and his residence.

The first suspect pointed a firearm at the resident. The resident ran to get his gun and the suspect shot several rounds through the patio glass window.

The first suspect is described as a thin, black male in his 20s, between 6’0 to 6’2″, wearing a black hat and red bandana over his neck and face, and a white tank top. He was carrying a black semi-automatic handgun.

The complainant said the second suspect was a black male and didn’t know if they fled on foot or in a vehicle.
