Beaumont police seek woman for questioning

The Beaumont Police Department is looking for clues to the identity of a woman who was using a homicide victim’s debit card days before her body was found.

Officers say 72-year-old Robbie Rae Allen was last heard from by family members on Tuesday, Dec. 13. The next day, a black woman wearing a large red jacket, white hat and jeans used Allen’s card at the Fastlane at Major and Phelan in Beaumont, according to surveillance footage from the store.

Two days later, on Friday, Dec. 16, Allen was found in her home, and the preliminary cause of death handed down after autopsy shows she possibly died from asphyxiation due to smothering.

Investigators said they need to speak with the woman about her connection to Allen. Anyone with information that can help with the investigation can call Beaumont Crime Stoppers anonymously at (409) 833-TIPS, online at, or text “BMT” plus the tip to CRIMES. All tips are anonymous and could be eligible for a reward up to $1,000.
