Bevil Oaks FEMA disaster recovery center closing Nov. 15

FEMA announced Nov. 14 that the federal mobile disaster recovery center (DRC) in Bevil Oaks will be closing permanently on Wednesday, Nov. 15.

One DRC in Houston will be closing the same day.

However, help is just a mouse click, phone call or a tap on the FEMA app away, FEMA spokesperson Ken Higginbotham said in a statement.

The Bevil Oaks DRC, located at 7390 Sweetgum Road in Bevil Oaks, will be closing at 5 p.m.

The Harris County DRC at the Tidwell Community Center, located at 9720 Spaulding Street in Houston, will be closing at 6 p.m.

Individuals and businesses in counties included in the Texas federal disaster declaration for Hurricane Harvey and the subsequent floods can still get help, and register if they haven’t done so.
