BPD to Hold Benefit for Officer's Ill Son

18-year-old Bucky Bean, son of Beaumont Police Sgt. Tim Bean, has been diagnosed with a rare form of cancer and the Beaumont Police family is reaching out to the community to help the Beans raise money to help their ailing son.

As a result of Bucky’s illness, the family is making almost daily trips to Houston for medical visits. To help raise money, on Wednesday, April 6, from 11 am until they run out, the BPD will be selling baked potatoes filled with either BBQ brisket, loaded, or any combination in between. The fundraiser will take place at the BPD parking lot.

For those wanting more than 20 potatoes, they are encouraged to contact Officer Bobby Rector at rrector [at] ci [dot] beaumont [dot] tx [dot] us. In addition to the food, a football and helmed signed by the Lamar football team will be auctioned off and Lamar football players and cheerleaders will be at the benefit from 11 am to 1 p.m.
