BPD identifies victim of car wreck

Police say a 44-year-old Beaumont woman is dead after a two-car collision on Monday, Oct. 28, but at least three children were spared in the fatal accident. 

According to a BPD press release, police determined that Erin Ilari was killed in her Chevy Malibu when she attempted to cross College Street going southbound on Todd Street. A 25-year-old Beaumont man in a Honda Civic struck Ilari's Malibu as it crossed the intersection, killing Ilari on impact, police said. 

Three children who were passengers in Ilari's Malibu were immediately taken to area hospitals where emergency room personnel listed them in stable condition. Two of the children belonged to Ilari and the other was a family friend, according to the press release. 

Beaumont EMS transported the 25-year-old driver of the Honda Civic to the an area hospital where he was listed in stable condition. 

Police are still investigating what led to the crash, according to the press release.
