BPD makes arrests in game room robberies

Officers in Beaumont have arrested four individuals in relation to recent game room robberies.

Sgt. James Cody Guedry reported in a news release that “detectives have worked diligently” to identify suspects in two separate game room robberies in Beaumont, one March 28 and the other April 11.

Beaumont police responded to the Joy Luck Game Room at 1402 Washington in reference to a robbery March 28. Investigators determined that four black male suspects entered the business and took money from the victims inside the store while one of the suspects held the patrons at gunpoint. Detectives have been able to identify and arrest two suspects, one of whom is a juvenile.

The adult suspect arrested was identified as Ajohntay Griffin, 17, of Beaumont. He is charged with aggravated robbery. The juvenile arrested in relation to the incident was also charged.

The investigation continues as police work to identify other suspects involved.

April 11, Beaumont police officers responded to the S&S Game Room at 2914 S. Fourth St. in reference to a robbery. Investigators in this case determined that two black male suspects entered the business. One suspect held them at gunpoint as they robbed the patrons of the business, Guedry reported. Video surveillance captured the incident, assisting detectives in identifying both suspects.

Eric Simmons, 24, and Jamard Living, 20, both from Beaumont, were arrested in relation to the crime and charged with aggravated robbery.
