BPD searches for bank robber

Beaumont P.D. Detectives and FBI Agents identified the suspect as Christopher M. Thomas, 23, from Houston in the robbery of a Beaumont bank. BPD Detectives and FBI agents were able to obtain a federal arrest warrant for Thomas. Investigators conducted a manhunt that spanned for several days in Houston.

The evening of June 25, 2014, Thomas turned himself into the FBI with the assistance of his attorney. Thomas is currently being held on the federal warrant in a Beaumont Facility, and a bond has not yet been set.

According to police, a man robbed the Wells Fargo bank at 8255 Gladys at about 12:55 p.m. June 3, 2014, then fled with an undisclosed sum. He was described as a light-skinned black male, tall, thin, dressed in a white long sleeve button down shirt, a baseball cap with a flag on the front, jeans, black shoes, sunglasses, dressed nicely and clean cut. He was last seen running south on Major.
