Burglary suspects identified from surveillance video

Melissa Wood and Octavious Jackson

Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office detectives have obtained arrest warrants for two people in reference to a residential burglary that occurred Nov. 29, 2017, at 2665 N. Twin City Highway.

The burglary occurred between 8:30 a.m. and 11:45 a.m. while the resident was away from his home, but surveillance video from the Jakes Fireworks stand next door caught the burglary on video.  The time stamp was 10:03 a.m.

When the complainant watched the video, he identified the two suspects as 49-year-old Melissa Wood of Beaumont and 28-year-old Octavious Jackson of Beaumont.  The complainant knew the two suspects and they had knowledge of valuables in his home.

Wood is in the Jefferson County Correctional Facility on a $75,000 bond for burglary of a habitation. Jackson has an outstanding burglary of a habitation warrant and is at large.

If you know the whereabouts of Jackson, call Crime Stoppers at (409) 833-TIPS.  You will not be asked your name and you could be eligible for a cash reward.
